 2016 ARCHAEOLOGY FESTIVAL AND IRON HILL SCIENCE CENTER GRAND OPENING

 

The 2016 Iron Hill Archaeology and Heritage Festival will be held on Sunday, May 1, at the Iron Hill Museum and Science Center complex. This year's theme is "Tools of the Trade." Click on the Events link below for more information about this fun, family-friendly festival!

That same day, the new Iron Hill Science Center will finally be open to the general public! Come out and see what your support has allowed the Delaware Academy of Science to accomplish to further our mission of science education in the State of Delaware!

Events

CAMPS AND ACTIVITIES   

  

Fun-filled Day Camps connect children to the wonders of nature through hands-on science activities, art, music, and games. Topics include archaeology, entomology, paleontology, history, and geology. We offer 6 different week-long Summer Camps, and are now accepting registrations! Click here to download the brochure and registration forms.

We are excited to annouce that we have also partnered with the Newark, DE Parks and Recreation Department to offer two weeks of half-day summer camp sessions. The first of these is June 20-24, and the second is July 18-22. Both camps are 9am to 12 noon. More information is available on the Newark Parks and Rec website.

 

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

 

Teaching children about the Iron Hill area and its diverse offerings for over 40 years! From the Geology of Jasper to the culture of the Lenni Lenape Indians, Iron Hill can offer a wide perspective on our local area and history.

Register now for one of the Boy Scout Merit Badges offered by the Delaware Academy of Science! Many different Merit Badges are offered at the Iron Hill Museum and other venues. The new schedule has been posted to the IHMBC web site.
